The Thisday event was organised in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The publisher of Thisday Newspapers, Nduka Obaigbena, stunned guests at the 18th edition of Thisday Awards in Abeokuta when he turned himself to a ‘foreman’ at the event.
The awards ceremony, which took place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta on Tuesday, saw Mr. Obaigbena taking on every role: from Master of Ceremony and usher to sole interviewer. Guests including former American President, Bill Clinton and Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun watched in amazement as Mr. Obaigbena intermittently got up from the high table to attend to his various self-imposed roles. He even fielded four out of the five questions posed to Mr. Clinton.
At the end of the ceremony, the publisher was personally distributing lunch invitation to notable guests at the occasion.
Also in attendance were former Nigeria President, Olusegun Obasanjo; former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba; the Osile of Oke-Ona, Adedapo Tejuoso; the Alake of Egbaland, Adedotun Gbadebo; the Awujale of Ijebuland, Sikiru Adetona; and the Paramount Ruler of Yewland, Kehinde Olugbenle.
