Former President Olusegun Obasanjo paid a courtesy visit on President Goodluck Jonathan at Aso Villa in Abuja on Sunday.
Obasanjo who is the ex-Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman of PDP was accompanied on the visit by two of his daughters, Chief Executive Officer of Forte Oil and PDP financier, Mr. Femi Otedola, and one other associate.
The ex-president was said to have joined the president in a prayer session after which he had lunch with him.
Details of the meeting are still sketchy but sources said the meeting was just a prayer meeting as ‘Obasanjo took the second reading at the service and accompanied President Goodluck Jonathan to the children’s church’. A source said.
The source also said:” I can assure you that they prayed together and subsequently had a meal. I was not privy to the details of what they discussed over lunch.”
The visit indicates a possible early resolution of the festering crisis in the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as well as the rift between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan.
